Former president Donald Trump will be in Tucson Thursday to “deliver remarks on our struggling economy and the rising cost of housing,” according to a press release. Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff is also visiting Tucson that day. Their visits will come days after the first presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and Trump.
The former president last stopped in Tucson in October 2020, but he was in Cochise County last month to tour the border and discuss immigration policy.
Emhoff’s visit is a part of the Harris-Walz campaign’s New Way Forward battleground tour, according to campaign staff. The tour is meant to “mobilize support, drive enthusiasm, and reach the voters who will decide this election as we approach the closing weeks of the campaign.”
This will be Emhoff’s first visit to Tucson this election cycle.
