At least 25 percent of the voters in Arizona's Republican party presidential preference election have voted early, but U.S. Rep. Jeff Flake, of Mesa, says the debate in Arizona last week provided enough information to sway the undecided voters.
"If you've looked at the debates over time, they've had a big impact. Rick Perry rose and fell pretty quickly and it was largely due to the debates," Flake says. "This debate in Arizona certainly had its moments that, I think, will help one candidate or another. It was a good debate."
Flake also discusses with Arizona Illustrated the criticism he's received so far along the campaign trail, including for his foreign travel and position on immigration.
