Dancing in the Streets

The stated mission of a small dance company on Tucson's south side, called Dancing in the Streets, is to "use the power of dance to break down cultural barriers and enrich the community's artistic experience through the creation of a diverse dance school and company." It's an ambitious goal, and when we first learned about this plan a little more than a year ago there where many people that questioned the viability of such a company in the heart of South Tucson. However, for those who had the opportunity to attend the recent sold out performance of Dancing in the Streets first production, there is little doubt about the success of this group.
