
England’s King’s Singers (pictured) join the renowned Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square in a magnificent Christmas celebration featuring some of the season’s most beloved songs. The King’s Singers have been delighting audiences around the world with their charm, wit and incomparable musicianship for more than 40 years.
CHRISTMAS WITH THE MORMON TABERNACLE CHOIR FEATURING THE KING’S SINGERS opens with “Rejoice and Be Merry,” a colorful processional featuring folk dancers and the choir. Vocal selections by The King’s Singers include “The Little Drummer Boy,” “Sussex Carol” and a moving new arrangement of “O Holy Night” with the men of the choir “The highlight of the program is a spectacular staging of “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” with each day’s gifts fully represented in fabulous costumes. Other numbers with the choir include “The First Nowell,” “Deck the Hall With Boughs of Holly,” “One December, Bright and Clear,” “What Child Is This?” and “Angels from the Realms of Glory.” The program also features a reading of the Christmas story from the book of St. Luke by The King’s Singers, in their delightful English accents, as well as a set of three carols, sung in Spanish.
The program features the world-renowned Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square, the Bells on Temple Square, and a holiday set with stained-glass church windows, snow-covered rooftops and brightly lit trees. More than 80 dancers contribute to the festivities.
The annual holiday concert, airing Wednesday, December 24th 8:00-9:00 p.m. is typically one of the most-watched holiday shows on PBS each year.
