Gabrielle Giffords Wins Third Term

U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords has been re-elected, after the results of nearly 14,000 early ballots from Pima County were released late Friday afternoon. The incumbent Democrat widened her lead over Republican challenger Jesse Kelly to more than 3,800 votes. A short time after the latest tally was released, the Associated Press officially called the race for Giffords.

Giffords held a press conference at her midtown Tucson campaign offices about 90 minutes after the latest results were released.
