The Other Side/El Otro

An illustrated book about trusting a stranger in the Sonoran Desert. by Özlem Özgür

Rebecca Wilder is a painter, designer and a book artist. She is fascinated by the light, large horizons, skies, and the magic of the natural world. One day while driving back home late at night, she met a stranger by the road in the middle of the desert who was rolling a flat tire. This is how the story in the illustrated book ‘El Otro Lado /The Other Side’ starts. It became An Arizona Daily Star’s Favorite Book in 2024. This story you will watch now is not only Rebecca Wilder’s journey to become an artist but also her journey about taking a leap of faith into trust.
