Protesters filled both sides of 22nd street, on the south side of Reid Park, for the mile from Country Club to Alvernon and beyond. Spokesperson Bennett Burke, with grassroots group Mobilize Tucson, which organized the event, said they estimated that 20-thousand people turned out in Tucson to protest.

“They're all out attack on our government, our economy, our basic rights and the US Constitution, which is being ignored and and really shredded daily, and of course, democracy itself," he said.

The AP reported that Hands Off! demonstrations on April 5 were organized in more than 1,200 locations in all 50 states by more than 150 groups, including civil rights organizations, labor unions, LBGTQ+ advocates, veterans and elections activists who are angry about the way the Trump administration is running the country.
