Celebrating civics through Southern Arizona’s vibrant arts scene

The evening highlighted the essential role of the arts in civic life and community connection.

AZPM and Arizona Illustrated recently hosted a successful community event, Arizona Illustrated Presents: The Art of Civics, spotlighting the dynamic arts community of Southern Arizona at The Historic Fourth Avenue Coalition Space.

Moderated by Tom McNamara, the event featured a screening of Arizona Illustrated stories that spotlight the vibrant arts scene in Southern Arizona, followed by a lively discussion with members of the arts community as featured on Arizona Illustrated, including:

  • Tyler Meier, Executive Director, UA Poetry Center
  • Adriana Gallego, Executive Director, The Arts Foundation for Tucson and Southern Arizona
  • Ignacio Garcia, muralist, 3D chalk artist, and painter
  • Logan Greene, Executive Director, Groundworks
  • Feng Feng Yeh, Chef and emerging multi-disciplinary artist

Guests also enjoyed delicious bites from Special Eats.
