AZPM News recently conducted a pair of bilingual listening sessions to hear from members of the community about issues of importance to them. Input from community members will elevate AZPM reporting, and allow journalists to better tell the unique, diverse stories of southern Arizona. Danyelle Khmara, Paola Rodriguez, and Katya Mendoza spent a weekend hosting nearly 60 sessions at the Little Mercado Farmer’s Market in Nogales and the Sahuarita Art on the Lake Festival presented by SAACA. Community collaborators from the Consulado de Mexico en Tucson y Nogales were also on hand to chat with visitors and answer questions. Guests enjoyed coffee and pastries courtesy of La Estrella Bakery.
