Leonard, Jance, Hoffman, more confirmed

Several New York Times best-selling authors are among the hundreds confirmed for the Tucson Festival of Books on March 13-14. The field includes top names in romance, mystery and science fiction.

Two favorites from the inaugural festival -- J.A. Jance and Elmore Leonard -- are among the headliners. Other confirmed authors include:

•Dan Balz, whose book, “The Battle for America 2008” is an authoritative account of last year’s presidential race.

•Frank Beddor, whose “Looking Glass Wars” trilogy is a critically acclaimed re-invention of Lewis Caroll’s “Alice in Wonderland.”

•Alice Hoffman, whose novel, "Practical Magic" is a feature film starring Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman.

•Phil Caputo, whose memoir, "A Rumor of War" remains one of the definitive books recounting the Vietnam War.

Second annual book festival is on!

More than 400 authors and 50,000 attendees are expected for the Second Annual Tucson Festival of Books -- set for March 13-14, 2010 at the University of Arizona campus. Roughly one third of the book authors are returning from last year's highly successful event.

The Tucson Festival of Books is a celebration of literacy where your favorite authors gather to speak about their work and conduct book signings. Writing workshops, competitions, panel presentations, live cooking demonstrations, children's activities, storytelling, artists and musician performances are but some of the entertainment scheduled free to the public. There's something there for all readers, of all ages.

There is no admittance fee and no parking fees at The University of Arizona. With the support of the Festival's generous sponsors, all community members may enjoy this fun and exciting community event at no charge.
